Infotech Lead America: SAP AG has launched a free mobile developer license, a new SAP Mobile Apps Partner program and additional support for integrating the software development frameworks from Adobe, Appcelerator Titanium and Sencha with the SAP mobile platform.
“Mobile technology has become the touch-point that unites the workforce across any organization, no matter the size, and SAP has been recognized as the leading mobile platform today by analysts,” said Sanjay Poonen, president, Mobile Division, SAP.
SAP has created an end-to-end support system that helps ensure that mobile developers around the world have easy access to SAP resources. SAP claims that it created the easiest path for B2B and B2C mobile apps to flourish from inception to market.
Mobile developer offerings from SAP are designed to be simple and accessible, with an open platform that integrates easily with third-party tools and supports industry standards without the need for upfront investment.
Developers have access to support through the developer center on SAP Community Network and the developer community, a one-stop shop to learn about and develop applications using SAP platforms. SAP recognizes that developers have different needs. The company is offering a flexible, tiered engagement model:
SAP is offering free 30-day trial to developers.
Free developer license will be available on Amazon Web Services.
The SAP Mobile Apps Partner program provides partners with a set of enablement tools and support to help them quickly and efficiently develop, market and sell mobile apps. The program delivers a set of benefits, including cost-effective starter packages for development licenses and hosted sandboxes and development environments.
“The SAP Mobile Apps Partner program has been incredibly valuable for Above Border in providing all of the tools and resources we needed to build our mobile apps quickly and effectively sell them via the SAP Store,” said Stephen Kenney, CEO, Above Border.
“Early results already show leads that were generated for Above Border directly as a result of placement on the SAP Store. We are confident that having our mobile apps on the SAP Store will continue to be very beneficial in terms of business impact to our top and bottom line,” Kenney added.
