R&M buys Optimum Fiberoptics

Cabling company R&M announced the acquisition of Optimum Fiberoptics, a US-based fiber optic cable and connectivity company.
R&M cable solutions for IT networksElkridge, Maryland- based Optimum is a manufacturer of fiber management products for the commercial, industrial and governmental market targeting customers in Washington D.C. and the Mid-Atlantic states. Jay Megan and Mark Megan are the co-founders of Optimum.

The acquisition of Optimum Fiberoptics is part of the growth strategy of R&M to expand its
business activities in North America. Financial details were not disclosed.

Markus Huber, executive vice president R&M North America, said: “Optimum is ideally located to serve our existing customer base on the East Coast as well as to target new customers. It will give us access to the fast-growing data center market area in Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia.”

R&M will make more investment over the next 24 months to strengthen R&M’s presence in the North American market.
