Infotech Lead Asia: Regus, a provider of flexible workplaces,  has opened its 1,500th business centre worldwide, in Pune, India.

The opening of Regus flexible workspace in Pune, one of India’s leading IT corridors, will help enterprises to create new revenues or work more efficiently in the region.

Regus’s footprint now covers some 600 cities and 99 countries.

Regus claims that it is on track to achieve a network of at least 2,000 business centres globally by 2014.

Mark Dixon, CEO of Regus, said: “It is appropriate that the 1,500th Regus centre is in India, because it’s a key growth market for Regus and our customers. With its strong economy and growing demand for flexible working, there is huge potential to develop our network in India to support the growth of local and international companies.”

Regus’ 1500th centre is at the Prahbavee Tech Park, in Baner, a district of Pune and home to many multinational and local IT companies. The centre is close to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and easily reached by bus and car.

The center includes ready-to-use offices, business lounge, meeting space, video communication lounge, and high-speed secure internet throughout. There is multilingual reception and administrative support.

Over 1,000,000 customers a day benefit from Regus facilities spread across a global footprint of 1,500 locations in 99 countries

Recently, Regus and Shell Deutschland Oil launched the first city-wide trial of workhubs in service stations, designed to make life easier and more productive for the rising tide of motorists and flexible workers who need to work on the move.

Regus Express workhubs are open for business in 70 Shell service stations in and around Berlin, with facilities ranging from Wi-Fi hotspots to docking stations, modern business lounges and meeting rooms. All services at the stations can be accessed with a Regus Businessworld Card.

Stephan Faul, district manager at Shell Deutschland Oil, said: “Our success at German service stations is due to differentiated fuels, CLUBSMART bonus program and comprehensive service.”
