Red Lion expands NT24k switch series

Red Lion Controls has added 18 new compact models to its N-Tron series NT24k managed Gigabit Ethernet industrial switch platform.

The new NT24k 10-to-14 port DIN-rail mountable switches feature Fast Ethernet, Gigabit or dual-mode fiber ports alongside eight Gigabit copper ports with optional IEEE 802.3af/at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) support.

According to Red Lion Controls, the rugged NT24k platform combines the benefit of noise-immune fiber with the versatility of 10, 100, 1000Base copper connectivity and provide a robust migration path across varying industrial applications.

Red Lion’s new switch modules include NT24k-FX, NT 24k-GX and NT24k-DM4.

NT24k-FX switches with 8 all-Gigabit copper and 2, 3, 4 or 6 100Base fiber ports are available with SC or ST connectors in multimode or singlemode.

While NT24k-GX switches with 8 all-Gigabit copper with 2, 3, 4 or 6 Gigabit fiber ports are available with SC connectors in multimode or singlemode.

NT24k-DM4 switches with 8 all-Gigabit copper ports with 4 SFP expansion slots for optional 100Base or Gigabit SFP transceivers.

The company said, each switch eliminate the need for a standalone 48 VDC power supply by accepting redundant 22-49 VDC power input and offering a step-up power boost circuit.

Additionally, Red Lion’s new PoE+ switches support applications such as security cameras, panel displays and wireless access points by providing up to 240 Watts PoE output power.

Each NT24k switch has hardened metal housing which provides shock (200 g) and vibration (50 g) tolerance coupled with up to a -40° to 85°C operating temperature range to ensure optimal network performance in the harshest industrial environments.

This apart, Red Lion’s rugged NT24k platform offers a full set of management features and advanced security to ease network deployment with key functionality.

In February, Red Lion Controls expanded its N-Tron series NT24k managed Gigabit Ethernet industrial switch platform with the addition of compact DIN-rail mountable switches.
