Rackspace appoints VeriSign executive Scott Crenshaw as SVP

Rackspace has appointed VeriSign executive Scott Crenshaw as senior vice president of strategy and product.

Crenshaw, who will oversee corporate strategy, business development and product and engineering portfolio of Rackspace, will report to Rackspace CEO Taylor Rhodes.

“Throughout his career, Scott has established a strong track record of developing winning strategies, managing and growing unique product offerings and working collaboratively with colleagues and customers,” Rhodes said.

Scott will work with Rackspace’s marketing, sales, support and other critical functions to drive product offerings and the best customer experience in the industry.

At VeriSign, Crenshaw as senior vice president of products he led the development of the company’s new products and services, including key growth areas.

Before joining Verisign in 2013, Crenshaw was senior vice president, strategy, and chief marketing officer for Acronis, a data backup and recovery solutions provider.

Previously, he served eight years in executive positions at Red Hat, Inc., including vice president and general manager of the cloud business unit and, previously, in the same capacity for the company’s Linux platform business unit.
