Polycom hires NCR veteran Peter A Leav for CEO job

Video conferencing vendor Polycom has hired NCR veteran Peter A Leav for the CEO job.

As president and chief executive officer of Polycom, Leav succeeds interim CEO Kevin Parker, who will continue serving as Chairman of the Board of Polycom.

The new CEO is joining Polycom at a time when the VC major is not doing well financially. Unified communication and video conferencing major Polycom posted a net loss of $24 million on a third quarter 2013 revenue of $336 million. In the third quarter of 2012, Polycom posted net loss of $14.8 million on revenue of $335 million.

During Leav’s tenure at NCR, revenues grew from $4.6 billion in 2009 to $5.7 billion in 2012. In his most recent role at NCR, Leav was executive vice president and president of Industry and Field Operations. Leav was responsible for leading a team of approximately 8,000 employees across 120 countries and for delivering annual revenue of more than $5.7 billion in 2012.
