Polycom has hired Infinera veteran Michael Frendo as executive vice president of Worldwide Engineering.
Frendo will be responsible for engineering delivery and execution, driving efficient business operations, and lifecycle management for Polycom’s video, voice and content collaboration solutions.
Frendo will replace AE Natarajan. Frendo will be a member of Polycom’s executive team and will report to President and CEO Peter Leav.
At Infinera, Frendo was the senior vice president of Architecture and led the architecture team responsible for the company’s systems and optical architecture.
Before Infinera, he was general manager of the Unified Communications Solutions Business Unit at Infinera, where he was responsible for integrating Nortel’s Enterprise Solutions Business into Avaya’s solutions.
He also worked at Juniper Networks, McDATA and Cisco Systems, where he was vice president for Systems and Software Engineering in the company’s Voice Technology Group.
