Pitney Bowes to set up second R&D center in India

Infotech Lead India: Pitney Bowes is opening its second R&D center inIndia.

The new center in Pune will focus on research and development for its global portfolio, including Volly, a digital mailbox solution.

The first R&D center is located in Noida, Delhi NCR.

The Pune center will allow Pitney Bowes to expand capacity for local and global business demands.

Pitney Bowes considersIndiato be strategically important from both a market and an operational perspective.

The R&D facility has more than 600 employees working across business units.

“Innovation forms the foundation of our growth strategy and with the current expansion, we hope to further leverageIndia’s talent pool. The Pune center will be the development hub for Volly, and other emerging digital solutions,” said Sue McKinney, vice president, Global Product Development, Pitney Bowes.

“Pune boasts of 12 percent of Software Product Development headcount inIndia. It is an education and research hub and this is one of the main reasons why we chose to set up our second R&D center here. With the opening of the Pune center, we hope to incubate, sustain and support local talent and maintain high quality of contributions and value to Pitney Bowes globally,” said Manish Choudhary, managing director, Pitney Bowes SoftwareIndia.
