Oracle Thomas Kurian at OpenWorld 2017Oracle President Thomas Kurian has showcased new services and enhancements across the Oracle Cloud Platform.

Oracle says it’s the only cloud provider to deliver a complete cloud portfolio, spanning IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Data as a Service (DaaS).

Infrastructure as a Service; Platform as a Service; Application Development Cloud Services; Software as a Service; and Data as a Service are some of the latest offerings from Oracle.

Oracle also launched the industry’s first intelligent security and management suite. This new set of integrated suites – Oracle Identity Security Operations Center (SOC) portfolio of services and Oracle Management Cloud – will help enterprises forecast, reduce, detect, and resolve cybersecurity threats.

Oracle said a number of independent software vendors (ISVs) are selecting Oracle Cloud Platform to speed innovation, simplify IT, reduce costs and deliver stellar customer experiences.

ISVs who have recently verified support for their applications on Oracle Cloud include Actifio, Altair, Calypso, Citrix, Commvault, DataStax, FireEye, Fortinet, Gemalto, Genesys, Informatica, Kaba Workforce Solutions, Palo Alto Networks, Sage XRT, Symantec and Veritas Technologies. SAP Business Applications Server ABAP/Java is also now certified to run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Database as a Service.

Oracle announced enhancements to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure that provide enterprises with more performance and reliability delivered by any major cloud vendor. These enhancements to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute, Storage, Networking, and Edge offer IT operations, developers, and researchers, infrastructure services optimized for production enterprise applications.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure improves compute performance by 87 percent and 54 percent better price-performance compared to other major cloud providers.

Oracle said its integrated PaaS offerings are easy for organizations to capitalize on transformative technologies.

Oracle announced three enhancements to Oracle Big Data Platform Cloud. The company said new services deliver critical capabilities essential to Big Data projects, and enable customers to simplify and accelerate data-driven business outcomes.
