NTT Communications is set to pick up 91.2 percent stake in Arkadin International, a video conferencing provider.
Arkadin’s customer service and infrastructure will strengthen NTT Com’s offering in global conferencing services and total solutions, incorporating unified communications.
NTT Com did not disclose the size of the acquisition. It is subject to regulatory and other approvals.
Talks are on with AXA Private Equity which has investments in Arkadin, the world’s third-largest collaboration service provider.
The management of Arkadin will reinvest alongside NTT Com.
Arkadin, which offers conference-related solutions covering audio, web, video conferencing and unified communications services, serves around 37,000 customers in 32 countries, including France, Germany, the UK, USA, Australia, China, Singapore and Japan.
AXA Private Equity invested in Arkadin in 2012.
Arkadin has experienced double digit revenue growth. It recently bought video conference specialist Novasight.
NTT Com’s customers are seeking to lower their costs and streamline operations by integrating internal communication tools with NTT Com’s Arcstar Audio Conferencing, Arcstar Web Conferencing, Arcstar Video Conferencing and cloud-based Arcstar UCaaS unified communications service.
“With the acquisition of one of the fastest growing players in the industry, NTT reaffirms its ambition to develop services in the collaboration business for all of its partners and clients across the world,” said Toru Maruoka, senior vice president, Voice and Video, NTT Com.
