NTT Com adds PoP at Markley Group’s One Summer Street

NTT Communications has expanded Tier-1 Global IP Network today with a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Boston at Markley Group’s One Summer Street.

The Markley Group expansion will enable NTT Com to further scale its offerings to Internet service providers (ISPs), content-oriented companies, hosting and CDN providers in this highly strategic market.

Markley Group customers, on the other hand, will benefit from a direct link to NTT Com’s award-winning Global IP Network and increased global connectivity options available in this location.

One Summer Street is a carrier neutral facility with a 100 percent uptime record. The center connects to over 80 domestic and international network providers and utility feeds from a Network Grid System comprised of eight substations for uninterrupted, reliable power.

Michael Wheeler, executive vice president of NTT Communications Global IP Network at NTT America, said the company chose Markley because One Summer Street provides a centralized location, exceptional performance and reliability that are an excellent match to NTT Com’s fully redundant Tier-1 IP backbone.

“One Summer Street is a world-class facility with cutting-edge infrastructure that offers NTT Com the opportunity to expand its presence with the industry-leading reliability and performance its customers expect,” said Patrick Gilmore, chief technology officer of Markley Group.
