NRF 2015: Verifone, Samsung to bring mPOS for retailers

Verifone has joined hands with Samsung to bring out Android-based mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions to retailers.

The initial offering will be introduced later this year, featuring ruggedized Samsung Galaxy Tab Active tablet with 8-inch screen for comfortable viewing; enhanced security with Verifone’s point-to-point encryption of payment data, coupled with Samsung’s Knox mobile device security, among other things.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Users can conduct transactions using one hand at the counter, in the aisle, or in any environment.

Verifone Offers Merchants a Single mPOS Payment Terminal to Support All Major Smart Device Options

Payment acceptance includes EMV, NFC, beacons and traditional magnetic stripe.

The new offering will support Verifone’s Secure Commerce Architecture (SCA) solution, which eliminates the flow of consumer payment data into the merchant’s integrated point of sale (IPOS) system, and enables encrypted delivery of data from the mPOS terminal directly to the merchant’s processor.

Verifone also announced PAYware Mobile e355, a mPOS terminal, supporting  major OS options including Android, iOS and Windows.

This new Verifone mPOS terminal helps retailers meet the needs of mobile retail environment, and includes all of the functionality needed to enable commerce from anywhere inside or outside the store.
