Novell has unveiled new upgrades to its file management and collaboration to address the market demands for secure and productive file sharing, storage and management.
The company has released updated versions of Novell Filr 1.1, Novell File Reporter 2.5 and Novell Storage Manager 4.0.
The solutions helps enterprise deliver solutions addressing security concerns, while leveraging existing IT assets instead of investing in third-party cloud solutions, the company said.
The new upgrades in Novell Filr 1.1 for admin include improvements to Net Folders for indexing, synchronization and load management. There are improvements for mobile device management and LDAP enhancements.
Improved features for users include mobile app enhancements (including Windows phone support), drag and drop improvements and file sharing improvements.
University of Regensburg, one of the users of Novell Filr 1.1, says the solution provides users with access to files from any location and device.
Another advantage of Novell solutions is that they integrate with existing infrastructure. It also addresses the needs of mobility and secure data management.
Novell File Reporter Version 2.5 now comes with custom reports through database querying, customization for custom query report, desktop report viewer and early access to analytic tools in development.
Novell Storage Manager 4.0 now features Ad Hoc Data Copying, Pre-copy during Enforce Policy Path and SQL Server Database. Customers can now use any version of Microsoft SQL Server-including the free, SQL Server Express.
