Niagara Health System taps HP for IT infrastructure

Niagara Health System (NHS), Ontario’s multi-site hospital amalgamation, has selected HP Networking solutions to expand service delivery, optimize network performance, and simplify its IT infrastructure.

NHS chose the HP 12500 and HP 8200 zl Switch Series to deliver high performance, scalability and availability at the network core, with the flexibility to deploy new services.

HP Networking solutions enabled Niagara Health System to achieve 99.99 percent network availability by aggregating and virtualizing technologies at all layers.

In addition, HP networking solution eliminated complexity by managing all virtual switches as a single device with HP Intelligent Resilient Framework virtualization technology.

NHS also integrated traditionally separate management tools through the software’s modularity and efficiently implement end-to-end business management.

Jeff Wilson, regional manager of ICT technical support at Niagara Health System, said: “With HP Networking solutions, we improved patient care by providing doctors with fast access to complex data as well as access to enhanced diagnostic capabilities.”

“In addition, HP provided vital expertise at every stage of this complex hospital build, from planning to successful deployment of our infrastructure, keeping the project on track and allowing us to deliver new services on schedule,” Wilson added.
