NETGEAR launches Arlo Q 1080p HD Security Camera for smart homes

NETGEAR today introduced Arlo Q 1080p HD Security Camera with Audio (VMC3040), expanding its Arlo IP camera family.

“With Arlo Q, our goal is to deliver an incredible end-to-end experience that leaves you feeling as though you are right there in your home, even though you may be a world away,” said Pat Collins, vice president of smart home products at NETGEAR.

The company said the new product comes up with detailed 1080p high-definition video and two-way communication.

It also has a 4-megapixel-image sensor and built-in night vision to reveal detailed picture even in total darkness. Arlo Q connects directly to any existing WiFi network.

Using a 130-degree wide-angle lens, Arlo Q can see entire rooms from corner to corner. It can be placed wherever required.

NETGEAR said, to enable seamless video streaming and uninterrupted cloud recording, Arlo Q uses dual band WiFi for maximum wireless range and performance without interference.

Arlo Q 1080p HD Security Camera with Audio (VMC3040) is available in December in the United States, and will launch in Australia, Canada, and Europe soon thereafter.

It can be purchased in retail stores and online at an MSRP of $219.99, £169.99 and €219.99.
