Microsoft India appoints Karan Bajwa as new MD of sales & marketing group

Infotech Lead Asia: Microsoft India has appointed Karan Bajwa as the new Managing Director of its sales and marketing group (SMSG).

Bajwa, who is currently the head of the Enterprise Business in India, will report to Bhaskar Pramanik, chairman, Microsoft India.

Bajwa has been with the company for over five years.

Sanket Akerkar, the current managing director, is moving back to the U.S. to take up another assignment in the company.

Bajwa starts his new tenure in July 2013 and Akerkar will help with the transition until the end of July.

Floris van Heijst, general manager – Marketing & Operations, Microsoft India, will take up a senior appointment within Europe in July 2013.

Floris van Heijst had joined Microsoft in 2005 and has been in India since 2010. van Heijst’s replacement will be announced shortly.
