Meru Networks and Westcon offer Wi-Fi as a service

Meru Networks has partnered with Westcon Group to deliver the first subscription based Wi-Fi as a Service (WaaS) offering for small to medium enterprises (SMEs).

The joint solution is based on XPress Cloud and designed to give SMEs the ability to support the high density of mobile devices in the workplace.

Office staff with little or no IT experience can deploy XPress Cloud which can easily be managed through a cloud based service with 24×7 support in a pay-as-you-go subscription model.

The Meru XPress Cloud is a controller-less 802.11ac Wi-Fi solution with cloud based management that only allows network management traffic to travel through the cloud.

Company officials said that the subscription based model will allow its SMB and SME customers to make WaaS operational expense, scaling costs as they grow or downsize.

Additionally, the white label capability provided by Meru XPress Cloud enables resellers to promote their brand to end customers by providing the XPress Service Provider (XSP).

Westcon Group will be the first distributor to offer the WaaS XPress Cloud offering.

The company offers evaluation, pre-design and planning to technical enablement and education support, necessary to ensure that partners are growing in the challenging business environment.
