Enterprise communications company Avaya has appointed Mark Wilson as chief marketing officer.
Wilson is joining Avaya from Sybase.
Wilson has 17 years of experience in marketing roles at AT&T, KPMG and Sybase.
At Sybase, Wilson worked as its senior vice president of corporate and field marketing and oversaw branding and advertising, corporate communications, lead generation, sales enablement, and mobile product marketing functions.
At Avaya, Wilson’s main role will be to lead marketing’s transition to a customer-solutions orientation as Avaya extends its leadership in effective, open-architecture communications and collaboration solutions that work for companies in the face of trends like Bring-Your-Own-Device, cloud applications, and consumerization of IT.
“Mark’s blend of experience, solutions savvy, marketing results, and leadership acumen make him a terrific fit to lead marketing at Avaya during this time of transformation. He is exactly the leader we were looking for as we align our entire organization to a solutions approach and expand as a market leader in collaboration,” said Pierre-Paul Allard, senior VP of Strategy and Corporate Development
Avaya.
“Avaya is leading the way into a future of communications and collaboration solutions that truly work for companies in an evolving technological world. I’m excited to be a part of Avaya’s forward momentum and innovation. I am drawn to Avaya’s commitment to customer success as the foundation for its technology solutions and impressed by the advances Avaya is delivering across the stack,” said Mark Wilson, CMO, Avaya.
Recently, Marc Randall joins Avaya as senior vice president and general manager for Avaya Networking. Randall most recently served as vice president and general manager of Cisco Systems’ Scalable Network Business Unit.
Avaya also appointed Michael Runda as senior vice president and president of Avaya Client Services.
