Manipal Health Enterprises signs Wipro InfoTech for Hospital Information System solution

Wipro InfoTech, IT business unit of Wipro, announced its major contract with Manipal Health Enterprises.

As part of a deal, Wipro will implement its Hospital Information System (HIS) solution and data migration services across Manipal Group Hospitals of the data stored in the older HIS files to the newer systems.

Both the companies did not reveal the  financial details of the contract.

The HIS application enables Manipal Health Enterprises to offer clinical, administrative and billing data for use by hospital staff, which is required for efficient functioning of a hospital.

MHE’s hospital network serves around 2 million patients inIndiaand overseas annually.

Wipro’s contract with Manipal Hospitals includes integration of HIS with third party software, interfacing with lab equipment and providing IT infrastructure support services on HIS Platform.

The MHE network of hospitals manages 4,900 beds in 15 hospitals across five states inIndia.

“Given our plans for the hospital network and business expansion in the near future, it is essential that we have a robust hospital information system that will help us grow further,” said Rajen Padukone, CEO, Manipal Health Enterprises.
