Magzter hires Time Inc veteran Abe Cytryn as CTO

Time Inc veteran Abe Cytryn will join Magzter, a global digital magazine store and newsstand, as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Cytryn, who worked with 15 years with Time, will drive Magzter’s technology strategy as the company begins to unveil a host of new products, features, and services for both publishers and consumers.

For the past five years, he led strategy and digital technology initiatives in support of new business models and product development at Time. He also oversaw the technology development that led to a patented approach for driving subscription capabilities for a hybrid bundling of print and digital products.

Additionally, Cytryn created in-house digital development group for mobile products that built and supported more than 50 apps.

Prior to Time Inc., Cytryn spent more than 25 years with Time Warner, serving as vice president of Technology at HBO. There, he spearheaded application development, most notably building HBO’s first direct-to-consumer offering for satellite subscribers.
