LogMeIn acquires Zamurai to boost mobile collaboration biz

LogMeIn today disclosed the acquisition of San Francisco-based Zamurai, a provider of mobile collaboration and whiteboarding.

Zamurai’s mobile whiteboard will now be offered exclusively via join.me as part of a new mobile push and major refresh of join.me’s iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch apps.

The deal, which closed in late 2014, was LogMeIn’s second recent acquisition of a San Francisco start-up. Zamurai co-founders are taking leadership roles on join.me’s marketing and product organizations.

Founded in 2013, Zamurai builds visual collaboration solutions to help professionals capture and share their ideas and conversations. The Zamurai Mobile Whiteboard re-approached the whiteboard experience for mobile including a library of images, lines, shapes with a state of the art drawing tool all on an infinite canvas.

“We believe that a true mobile-first approach means embracing the unique benefits of mobile to boost collaboration, as opposed to trying to duplicate desktop or in-person experiences on a mobile device,” said Bill Wagner, president and COO of LogMeIn, makers of join.me.
