Lenovo has priced ThinkServer RS140, an entry-level single-processor 1U rack server for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMB), at $549.
The Chinese enterprise IT vendor is offering multiple choices on processors. For instance, SMBs can select Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3 series, among other processors.
The ThinkServer RS140 supports Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3 series processors with integrated graphic processing, perfect for data center edge systems serving streaming media, games, and other graphic intensive web content.
Lenovo said RS140 can also be configured with Intel Core i3, Pentium, and Celeron desktop processors.
Lenovo in a statement said the rack server can accommodate variety of workloads, including distributed enterprise and datacenter edge, as well as standalone applications such as retail, collaboration, and IT infrastructure.
The RS140 supports up to 32GB of RAM and 8TB of internal storage, and comes with one full-height, half-length x8 Gen 3 PCIe slot for optional RAID protection or network expansion. At 16.2 inches deep, the ThinkServer RS140 can be deployed in space-constrained environments including wiring closets and two post racks.
RS140 features Intel’s AMT 9.0 remote network management tool for server maintenance. Intel AMT provides secure remote access for diagnostics, maintenance and remote monitoring.
“The Lenovo Enterprise Group is aggressively expanding its server offerings in the rack segment by adding a new 1P rack to our portfolio,” said Darrel Ward, vice president, Enterprise Product Group, Lenovo.
