Lenovo names Qingtong Zhou as CIO

Lenovo has appointed Qingtong Zhou as its new chief information officer (CIO).

Zhou, currently Lenovo’s head of strategy and planning, will be replacing Xiaoyan Wang, who becomes senior vice president of a newly created centralized services organization.

Both positions will report to Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing.

Ken Wong, formerly vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets region, has been named vice president, strategy and planning, succeeding Zhou.

With Wong’s move, Lenovo’s Asia Pacific Emerging Markets (APEM) region and Asia Pacific Mature Markets (APMM) region will be combined into one organization, headed by Rod Lappin, currently vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific Mature markets.

Wong will report to Yang, while Lappin, as president, Asia Pacific region, will continue to report to Lenovo Chief Operating Officer, Gianfranco Lanci.
