Enterprise networking vendor Lenovo has expanded its Lenovo ThinkServer portfolio with two new servers — 1U ThinkServer RD350 and 2U ThinkServer RD450 — for the SMB segment.
Lenovo is targeting small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs) segment with the launch of the 1U ThinkServer RD350 and 2U ThinkServer RD450 servers.
The starting price of Lenovo ThinkServer RD350 will be $1,249, while Lenovo ThinkServer RD450 will be available for $1,499 in the U.S.
Bob Galush, vice president, High Volume Servers and Options, Lenovo, said: “Our next-generation RD350 and RD450 ThinkServers address these critical customer concerns by providing a balance of enterprise-class performance, flexibility and leadership reliability in a low-cost package.”
Lenovo in a statement said the RD350 server supports up to 16TB of internal storage in a condensed 1U form factor. Targeting organizations with space limitations, the scalable RD350 is available with either 2.5- or 3.5-inch drive configuration options.
Both the ThinkServer RD350 and RD450 servers are equipped with up to two of the latest 12-core Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 series processors and can be configured to feature up to 512GB of DDR4 memory via 16 DIMM slots, nearly tripling the memory capacity of previous-generation servers.
Combined, these features generate almost double the bandwidth and power efficiency increase over DDR3 memory, delivering critical performance enhancements for running workloads such as scale-out data analytics, virtualized business workloads and compute-intensive applications that require faster processing, said Lenovo.
The RD450 2.5-inch configuration leverages Lenovo’s ThinkServer AnyRAID adapters to provide data protection without taking up PCIe slots.
Both servers are available with 80 PLUS Titanium or Platinum-rated power supplies, providing an 11 percent increase in performance efficiency over the Gold standard.
