Kyndryl wins $650 mn tech deal from BCP to modernize IT systems

Banco de Credito del Peru (BCP) has announced a partnership with Microsoft and Kyndryl to modernize its IT systems using hybrid cloud technology, aiming to improve digital banking accessibility for Peruvians.

This collaboration involves an investment of over $650 million over five years, marking it as one of the largest tech investments in Latin America’s financial sector.

BCP, Microsoft, and Kyndryl will work together to enhance BCP’s digital channels, create a resilient IT infrastructure, and foster innovations in artificial intelligence, promoting financial inclusion and growth for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Enhanced IT infrastructure will improve BCP’s online and mobile banking experience. BCP’s mobile app and Yape digital wallet are widely used, with 27 million daily transactions.
