Juniper supplies MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers to Equinix

Enterprise networking vendor Juniper Networks has supplied MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers to Equinix for deployments in 19 markets to support its Equinix Cloud Exchange.

Equinix Cloud Exchange enables on-demand and direct access to multiple cloud services and multiple networks.

Equinix Capex for Q4 2013 pegged at $210 million

Equinix utilizes the Ethernet VPN capabilities of Juniper’s MX Series routers to simplify cloud access, creating private environments between cloud providers and their customers.

The data center provider plans to leverage Juniper’s technologies to address escalating demands for mobility and virtualization within enterprise networks. In addition, MX Series routers provide Equinix and its customers with access to software-defined networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) architecture.
