Enterprise networking major Juniper Networks has completed the first phase of Yonsei University’s wired and wireless network integration project.

Yonsei, which aims to complete the integration project in four phases by 2018, is deploying Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet Switches featuring 40GbE upgradability, to scale its campus network across 69 buildings at its campus in Sinchon, Seoul.

“This deployment is a strong, accelerated continuation of our success in the education sector. We are committed to delivering our best during the remaining three phases of the project and aim to replicate this success across other high-traffic campuses requiring scalable and flexible networks,” said KB Chai, country manager of Korea, Juniper Networks.

The EX9208 Ethernet Switch from Juniper Networks is expected to simplify the Korean university’s implementation of cloud applications, server virtualization and media collaboration tools.

Juniper Networks in a statement said that the EX4600 Ethernet Switch provides flexibility, high availability with integrated In-Service Software Upgrades (ISSU) and simplified MC-LAG management as well as Virtual Chassis technology allowing for a mix of up to 10 EX4600 and EX4300 switches in a single configuration.

Juniper Networks has deployed Yonsei’s network across 69 of the buildings at the Sinchon campus, to accommodate future network expansion.

In addition, Juniper Networks has simplified network infrastructure from a legacy three-tier architecture to a two-tier architecture, minimizing service downtime to ensure better network performance across the entire campus at any time.
