Indian server market revenue rose 0.8 percent to $280.1 million in the third quarter of 2019, according to IDC.
This growth is majorly driven by non-x86 server market as it registered big deals from large public and private banks in India.
India’s x86 server market revenue declined 6.1 percent to $239 million in 3Q19 from $254.6 million in 3Q18. Industry verticals such as banking, government, and manufacturing grew at 125.4 percent, 24 percent, and 3.5 percent respectively in the x86 server market.
The non-x86 server market revenue increased 77.3 percent to $41.2 million.
HPE has overtaken IBM and leads the non-x86 server market with a revenue share of 48.4 percent.
IBM has a revenue share of 45.4 percent in non-x86 server business. Oracle with 6.1 percent share in non-x86 server business is the third largest supplier.
India’s banking industry remains the top vertical for non-x86 servers with 83.2 percent share followed by manufacturing and professional services with 9.9 percent, and 3.1 percent respectively.
The IDC report said Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Dell Technologies tied for the number one position in the India server market claiming a revenue share of 27.1 percent and 26.5 percent respectively.
HPE India posted server revenue of $64.7 million with major deals coming from telecoms, government and banking vertical.
Dell Technologies India clocked server revenue of $63.4 million with major deals in banking, manufacturing and telecoms.
Cisco stood at the third position in the India server market achieving 24.3 percent growth and claiming a revenue share of 10.8 percent to at $25.8 million.
Acer Group is the fourth largest server supplier in India grabbing revenue share of 2.9 percent and revenue of $6.9 million due to the big win from state ICT development project, IDC India said.
