IBM is facing severe pressure in the server market. Server market share of IBM, HP, Oracle and Fujitsu decreased in the first quarter of 2013. The dip in server market share of IBM was 2.5 percent in Q1 2013.
IBM posted $3 billion in server vendor revenue worldwide. In the first quarter of 2013, system x accounted for 29.3 percent of IBM’s total server revenue.
HP’s market share in server segment decreased 2.8 percent. The decreased in server market share of Oracle and Fujitsu was 1.3 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively.
However, Dell’s market share in server space increased by 3.1 percent.
