IBM Storage Systems associate director Sandeep Dutta on software defined storage market

Sandeep Dutta, associate director – IBM Storage Systems, India/South Asia, said the software defined storage market has the potential to grow substantially in the country.

IBM’s software defined storage products are designed to reduce storage costs up to 90 percent by automatically moving data onto the most economical storage device.

In this video interview, Sandeep Dutta talks about market challenges, opportunities, growth drivers, IBM’s plans in India, etc.

IBM says Elastic Storage – the code name for its software defined storage products — virtualizes the storage allowing multiple systems and applications to share common pools of storage. This enables transparent global access to data without the need to modify applications and without the need for additional and often disruptive storage management applications.
