Huawei unified storage product achieves 650,987.88 SPC-1 IOPS

Enterprise networking vendor Huawei said its unified storage product, OceanStor 6800 V3, has achieved 650,987.88 SPC-1 IOPS as measured by the Storage Performance Council’s SPC-1 benchmark.

Huawei said OceanStor 6800 V3 unified storage product, which is available in China from May 2014 and Western Europe from November 2014, has tripled database processing performance and virtual machine support capabilities compared with the OceanStor T series storage products.

The Chinese IT network vendor company said OceanStor V3 assists enterprise CIOs in building high-performance enterprise private cloud infrastructure architecture.

“The SPC-1 TM Result released today fully demonstrates the superiority of OceanStor V3 storage systems’ convergence architecture, which provides better price performance for customers’ data centers,” said Fan Ruiqi, president of Storage Product Line, Huawei.

Huawei OceanStor V3 series storage systems enable five levels of convergence, including storage area network (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) convergence, high-end, mid-range and low-end convergence, solid state drive (SSD) and hard disk drive (HDD) convergence, main storage and backup convergence, and heterogeneous storage convergence.

It also provides data storage for applications such as large-database Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), file sharing, and cloud computing, and can be widely applied to industries ranging from government, finance, telecommunications, and energy, to media and entertainment, said Huawei.
