Huawei launches container data center at a Malaysian event

Enterprise networking vendor Huawei today launched its live container data center in a single 40ft ISO (international Organization for Standardization) standard shipping container.

Showcased at an ICT event in Malaysia, Huawei said Container Data Centre Solutions features security, fast deployment, mobility, and energy/cost saving.

Huawei’s Container Data Centre IDS1000-A addresses issues faced by businesses, including managing expansion in contrast to installing traditional data centers that suffer from long construction periods, high energy consumption and high initial investment.

The Chinese ICT vendor also showcased its enterprise storage system, Huawei OceanStor 18000 series including OceanStor 18500 and OceanStor 18800.

Leo Li, country director of Huawei Malaysia enterprise business said the company built more than 330 data centers and 70 cloud data centers worldwide.

Huawei provides ICT trainings for 20,000 engineers annually via Huawei Global Training Centre, in addition to the education program developed in conjunction with MDeC to train 10,000 local talents between 2011 and 2016.
