HP announces innovations and prices for modified storage and servers

Enterprise networking vendor HP announced innovations and prices for its modified storage and server products.

The price of HP 3PAR StoreServ 1.92TB cMLC drives is $14,315 per drive.

The starting price of HP StoreOnce 6500 is $375,000, while HP Federated Catalyst will cost you $37,500 per couplet for the HP StoreOnce 6500.

HP FlexFabric 7900 switch series are priced at $55,500.

The modified HP ConvergedSystem for Virtualization will be available for a starting price of $170,000. The enhanced HP OneView is available for a price of $699.

The new modifications, which enable a software-defined datacenter that is supported by cloud delivery models, are aimed at lowering cost of operations for enterprises, said HP.

HP said high-performance computing (HPC) offerings, including HP Apollo HPC systems, are capable of delivering better performance while using less space and energy.

Enhancements to the all-flash HP 3PAR StoreServ and HP StoreOnce Backup family accelerate mission-critical applications and eliminate complex backup silos, said HP.

Networking offerings like the HP Virtual Cloud Networking (VCN) SDN Application are designed to simplify the transition to a software-defined datacenter.

HP Apollo, a new family of HPC solutions, combine a modular design with innovative power distribution and air- and liquid-cooling techniques for extreme performance at rack scale, providing up to four times more performance per square foot than standard rack servers.

The company said HP Helion Self-Service HPC, a private cloud solution based on HP Helion OpenStack cloud platform, provides a self-service portal containing HPC resources via a user-friendly application interface.

The all-flash HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 Storage array delivers flash storage at under $2 per usable gigabyte via inline deduplication without compromising performance or guaranteed 99.99 percent data availability.

The new HP Virtual Cloud Networking SDN Application andHP FlexFabric Datacenter 7900 series switch rapidly virtualize the datacenter, enabling customers to deploy and optimize secure, isolated cloud networks in minutes vs. months.

The networking vendor has integrated HP ConvergedSystem for Virtualization with HP OneView, delivering a common management platform across servers, storage, networking and third-party software, enabling customers to deploy and automate the management of their IT environment in 20 days.
