Just Dial, an online search engine provider of business addresses in India, has implemented all-flash storage, elastic cloud storage and data protection solutions from Dell EMC.
The networking deal with Dell EMC will assist Just Dial to gain control of its IT infrastructure through consolidation, virtualization and automation. Dell EMC XtremIO all-flash storage platform along with ECS and Avamar deployments will help Just Dial significantly increase application performance and efficiency over a traditional SAN platform.
“By adopting the Dell EMC Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) and Avamar backup solutions, we have seen significant business and operational ease in managing our core infrastructure setup,” said Mahesh Pawar, VP – Infrastructure and Operations, Just Dial.
Just Dial, which conducted the evaluation of XtremIO, has achieved performance gains of 60 percent and a reduction of database query time by 30-40 percent. Faster response time for the search engine is the primary result of the Dell EMC deployment.
XtremIO solid state storage will assist Just Dial to save on electricity and cooling costs. XtremIO’s storage density will help reduce the company’s data center footprint.
EMC Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) will help lower storage costs by up to 80 percent by reducing the storage footprint, improved disk utilization and lower management and administration overhead.
Dell EMC Avamar, which is used by Just Dial in multiple locations, will help ensure protection of its database. Data restore is faster and back-up time is reduced compared to traditional back-up systems. By moving to Avamar, Just Dial reduced administration costs by almost 90 percent.
“With Dell EMC’s XtremIO all-flash array, ECS object storage and Avamar, organizations can reduce their costs, increase their performance efficiency,” said Syed Masroor, sales director – Flash Storage Sales India at EMC, Dell EMC.
