The 2026 Global IT Spend Report estimates that 16.3 million organizations worldwide will invest in IT hardware, software, services, and communications over the next year. Enterprises will account for $4.5 trillion of total spending, while small and medium-sized businesses are projected to invest $460.5 billion. This is the first time HG Insights has delivered a detailed, large-scale analysis of SMB technology spending, signaling broader participation in advanced IT adoption beyond large corporations.
AI Reshapes Enterprise IT Budgets
Artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing how organizations allocate technology budgets. Enterprises are prioritizing scalable cloud platforms, data infrastructure, and automation tools to support AI-driven operations and analytics.
Rohini Kasturi, CEO of HG Insights, noted that go-to-market leaders are navigating rapid shifts in technology priorities. She emphasized that while AI is accelerating spending in strategic areas, it is also prompting stricter evaluation of technology investments, making budget precision more critical than ever.

The integration of verified customer reviews and first-party intent data enables deeper visibility into purchasing behavior, linking spending projections with how technology buyers research and evaluate solutions.
