Genesis Hospitality Canada deploys Meru Networks’ access solutions

Infotech Lead America: Genesis Hospitality has deployed Meru Networks’ access solutions to connect guests and business event attendees to the Internet.

Deployed at Genesis Hospitality’s six properties in central Canada, Meru Networks’ access solutions enable guests to walk around with laptops or tablets and they never lose connectivity or break their mobility.

Meru Networks’ access solution is significant for the group as vacationers and small conferences with business travelers compose 40 percent of annual revenues to The Best Western Inn on the Bay, one of the Genesis Group’s premier properties.

Jason Hemstock, general manager, Genesis Hospitality, says they considered several vendors’ solutions before selecting Meru.

The hotel does not have IT staff and did not hire resources for installation or management of the network.

Srinath Sarang, co-founder and general manager of hospitality and entertainment solutions at Meru, says with such a high percentage of Genesis Hospitality’s revenue coming from business travelers, they simply cannot afford to risk failure in this area.
