FirstRain to expand operations in India, to focus more on R&D

FirstRain, a provider of Personal Business Analytics for enterprise sales and marketing teams, said it will expand its operations by over 100 percent in the next two years.

The move will help the company drive rapid technology innovation, deliver breakthrough mobile apps and support the requirements of its Fortune 500 customers.

India is a potential market for companies like FirstRain. Thanks to the demand from the market, the company has seen growth of its talent pool by over 30-40 percent each year.

The FirstRain India team is a core part of developing, enhancing and maintaining our Personal Business Analytics  platform and gives us a vital competitive advantage, said Penny Herscher, president and CEO, FirstRain.

FirstRain leverages the technical expertise of their R&D team located in India to help create optimal personal business analytics solutions for its Fortune 500 customers. The company’s technology patents are co-authored by engineers in Gurgaon R&D center and headquarters at San Mateo, California.

As part of this expansion, FirstRain is strengthening its Gurgaon office as an R&D hub. The company will also expand its workforce since it views employees as a critical element to further its leadership in the business analytics market.

Within the last year, FirstRain experienced more than 230 percent year-over-year top-line growth, a 40 percent increase in personalized views from existing users, a 50 percent increase in companies users can get insights on, and significant new analytics innovation including a suite of enhanced mobile apps.

The company also increased headcount by 50 percent in its US operations.
