FeedHenry nets $9 million in Intel-led funding round

Infotech Lead Europe: Intel Capital has led a $9 million investment round in FeedHenry, a provider of cloud- based mobile enterprise application solutions.

Other investors include existing investors Kernel Capital, VMware, Enterprise Ireland and private investors alongwith new investor ACT Venture Capital.

The funding will provide FeedHenry with the capital to accelerate the international roll out of its mobile application platform that draws on critical cloud-based technology. It is estimated that FeedHenry will now be able to create 100 jobs over the next two years.

FeedHenry’s mobile application platform helps businesses build mobile apps that integrate securely to their business through the cloud. This competitive market includes StackMob, Usergrid, Appcelerator, Sencha.io, Applicasa ,Parse, CloudMine , CloudyRec , iKnode, yorAPI, Buddy and ScottyApp.

FeedHenry provides a next generation mobile application platform that helps businesses build mobile app solutions that integrate securely to their business through the cloud.

Cathal McGloin, CEO, FeedHenry said, “As organizations evolve towards more complex apps with connections to multiple backend systems, the need for a cloud-based mobile application platform is compelling. This new investment will give us the means to continue to innovate and expand the capabilities of our platform to better serve our growing customer base.”

Forrester’s Enterprise Mobility Research Report states that  the mobile apps market segment is expected to reach $37 billion by 2015. Since FeedHenry’s inception in 2010, the company has built a global customer base belonging to a wide range of industries such as healthcare, travel and transportation, business services and utilities.

FeedHenry’s  partners include Rackspace, Hewlett-Packard, and VMware’s open source platform service, Cloud Foundry. Partnerships with mobile operators and cloud vendors have helped extend FeedHenry’s international reach.

Recently, Telefonica Digital also partnered with FeedHenry to enable its enterprise customers to design, build and manage mobile applications hosted in the cloud.
