F-Secure appoints Samu Konttinen as CEO

Cyber security vendor F-Secure today announced the appointment of Samu Konttinen as the new president and CEO.

Samu Konttinen replaces Christian Fredrikson, who has resigned to pursue a leadership opportunity outside the European company.

Christian Fredrikson, who became the CEO of F-Secure in January 2012, led the cyber security firm through a period of transition. Under his leadership, F-Secure has refocused on security, divested its personal cloud storage business, and acquired a Nordic security consultancy and services.

Samu Konttinen joined F-Secure in 2005 and has held a range of senior management positions in the company, including executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, and EVP of Consumer Business of F-Secure. Most recently, Samu Konttinen served as EVP Corporate Security Business.

F-Secure aims to capitalize on the opportunities driven by digitization by increasing investments in the corporate security markets, including managed endpoint security services sold through the reseller channel as well as cyber security services.

F-Secure is recruiting senior security professionals, rising cyber security talents and skilled sales personnel. The company also aims pursue growth through mergers and acquisitions.
