The worldwide wireless local area network (WLAN) market — enterprise segment – rose 47.9 percent to $3.35 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022, IDC report.
The enterprise segment of the WLAN market grew 31.4 percent in 2022 to $10 billion, IDC said in its Wireless LAN Tracker.
Wi-Fi 6 Dependent Access Points (APs) grew 36.8 percent sequentially from 3Q22 to 4Q22, accounting for 82.8 percent of dependent AP revenues.
Revenues from Wi-Fi 6E, which expands Wi-Fi’s use to the 6 GHz band of spectrum, doubled from 3Q22 to 4Q22 to $209 million, accounting for 7.2 percent of dependent AP sales in 4Q22.
The consumer segment of the WLAN market increased 4 percent in 4Q22 and grew 0.2 percent for the full year. Wi-Fi 6 made up 49.3 percent of the consumer segment of the WLAN market revenues.
Cisco’s enterprise WLAN revenues increased 68.8 percent in 4Q22 to $1.5 billion and rose 33.8 percent for the full year. Cisco’s enterprise WLAN market share reached 41.2 percent in 2022.
HPE-Aruba enterprise WLAN revenues rose 49.6 percent in 4Q22 and rose 50.9 percent for the full year. HPE-Aruba’s enterprise WLAN share was 14.6 percent in 2022.
Huawei enterprise WLAN revenues rose 52.4 percent in 4Q22 and rose 33.6 percent for the full year. Huawei’s enterprise WLAN market share reached 7.6 percent in 2022.
Ubiquiti enterprise WLAN revenues increased 23.8 percent in 4Q22 and rose 11.4 percent for the full year. Ubiquiti’s enterprise WLAN market share was 6.8 percent in 2022.
H3C enterprise WLAN revenues increased 5.9 percent in 4Q22, and increased 14.4 percent for the full year. H3C’s enterprise WLAN market share reached 4.2 percent in 2022.
