eBay Ship-from-Store SaaS solution launched for retailers

eBay Classifieds Group has deployed Juniper Networks Contrail Networking to build automated and scalable virtual overlay networks.

Juniper Networks QFX Series switches have been selected by the company to power its cloud-based network and ensure reliability and faster response times.

eBay Classifieds Group moved its operations to the cloud to speed up its business processes by reducing the time to build and bring its classified platforms online.

Juniper and Infradata’s SDN-based approach enabled eBay Classfieds to roll out new services in more than one country within a few hours.

“We constantly create new innovative services that can deliver substantial value to our customers. Juniper, with its customer-first approach, provides us with the network but also enables us to provide an excellent customer service,” said Maarten Moerman, manager of network engineering at eBay Classifieds Group, Netherlands.

The online commerce leader reported $2.1 billion in revenue in the first quarter of this year. eBay has always shown interest in adopting new technologies to boost its business.

Most recently, the company announced its intend to acquire predictive analytics startup SalesPredict aimed to improve its artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science efforts.

eBay also adopted Google’s open-source Accelerated Mobile Pages framework to improve mobile shopping experience.
