DIGISOL 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE switch
Indian networking product company DIGISOL Systems has launched its 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE switch.

The unmanaged DG-GS1008PH-A switch offers 8 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet ports, while 4 ports are Power over Ethernet (PoE) complaint to IEEE 802.3af.

Enterprises can use the PoE ports to power up devices complying with 802.3af using the existing Ethernet cable. The switch uses store and forward packet switching technology to ensure reliable data transfer.

Product specifications

# 8 x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 Nway ports with 4 Power over Ethernet Ports

# Complies with IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3x and IEEE802.3af standards

# Supports MDI/MDI-X auto crossover

# Up to 2000Mbps data transfer rates in Full Duplex Mode

# Plug and Play installation

# Link/ ACT LED for each port & PoE LED for PoE ports

# Supports wire speed packets filtering and forwarding rate

# Supports store-and-forward switching infrastructure

DIGISOL said the switch supports automatic MDI/MDI-X detection eliminating the need of a cross over cables or dedicated uplink ports. The company claims that DG-GS1008PH-A is suitable for small Ethernet workgroups and application requiring PoE.

The retail price if DIGISOL DG-GS1008PH-A is Rs 5,499 and comes with limited lifetime warranty.

The DG-GS1008PH-A Switch offers 8×10/100/ 1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports with 4 Power Over Ethernet ports supplying PoE Power to PoE devices. The existing Ethernet cables can be used to power up IEEE 802.3af compliant network devices. This eliminates the need of an external power source and power cabling for such devices.

The auto-negotiation and auto-sensing feature of the switch eliminates the need to manually configure the switch for optimum performance. Auto MDI/MDI-X feature eliminates the need of using a crossover cable or dedicated up link port.

With its backplane capacity of 16Gbps, data transfer is at an average of 2000Mbps per port at full duplex mode.
