Dell reports 20% drop in revenue to $20.9 bn in first-quarter

Dell Technologies has reported revenue of $20.9 billion (down 20 percent) with operating income of $1.1 billion (down 31 percent) for its fiscal 2024 first quarter.
Dell XPS“We executed well against a challenging economic backdrop,” said Chuck Whitten, co-chief operating officer of Dell Technologies, said in its earnings report. “We maintained pricing discipline, reduced operating expenses, and our supply chain continued to perform well after normalizing ahead of competitors.”

Dell Technologies has generated revenue of $7.6 billion (down 18 percent) from Infrastructure Solutions Group and $12 billion (down 23 percent) from Client Solutions Group.

Dell Technologies has generated revenue of $3.8 billion (down 11 percent) from Storage and $3.8 billion (down 24 percent) from Servers and networking.

Dell Technologies has generated revenue of $9.9 billion (down 18 percent) from Commercial PC business and $2.1 billion (down 41 percent) from Consumer PC business during the first quarter.

The Texas-based company expects second-quarter revenue to be between $20.2 billion and $21.2 billion.
