DELL| Quest Software signs 3-year managed service contract with Espire Infolabs

Infotech Lead Asia: DELL| Quest Software has signed a managed services contract with Espire Infolabs under which Espire Infolabs will provide OPEX based Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solutions to the customers in India and the APJ (Asia Pacific Japan) region using DELL| Quest Software’s Foglight platform.

Foglight enables application monitoring across multiple technologies such as Java, .NET, virtual or physical servers, databases, networks, etc., and capture the experience of users interacting with those applications.

As part of this three year agreement, Espire will build a services model around Foglight to provide customers with managed services option to enable them to use Foglight for their APM needs. The company has already built a team of experts capable of delivering implementation services and on-going support to customers on Fogligt.

Quest Software launches Foglight for Windows Azure Applications

In November last year Dell company Quest Software launched Foglight for Windows Azure Applications, as well as the beta of Foglight for Cloud Cost Management.

Foglight for Windows Azure Applications helps assure the performance and availability of applications built on the Windows Azure platform.

Real user monitoring enables developers and DevOps specialists to determine how many visitors the application is supporting, where users are coming from, and what browsers/devices they are using, so they can tailor and improve appeal accordingly.

Dell is expanding in the Asia Pacific region

Recently Infotech Lead reported that Dell is expanding operations and headcount in India. The computing major has already grown from one person to about 27,000-strong workforce in India in about a decade.

Dell said the company’s plant in Chennai and the operations and staff size in the country would continue to expand as per the size of the business.

The company has reported revenues of $62.1 billion in 12 months to February 3, 2012. Net profit of Dell was $3.5 billion.
