Dell assists Agmatel to achieve 30% cut in total cost of ownership

Dell India today said its OEM solutions have assisted Agmatel, a provider of kiosks to public sector in India, to achieve 30 percent reduction in their total cost of ownership.

Agmatel tapped PCs from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in China and Taiwan to power its kiosk terminals.

Since it faced problems such as lack of support from PC vendors and stringent testing by Government officials, Agmatel decided to switch to Dell OEM Solutions and Intel processors to solve its challenges.

Dell World 2014

Agmatel selected Dell OEM OptiPlex 7010 and 9020 PCs with Intel Core i3 dual-core processors to support its kiosk terminals. Agmatel connected the kiosks to a network by selecting Dell Wyse thin clients.

Dell’s solution has supported Agmatel to offer speedy delivery which reduced their total cost of ownership of kiosk solution by 30 percent.

Agmatel is anticipated to increase kiosk production over the coming years. By using Dell’s solution, Agmatel plans to jump from shipping 3,000 kiosks every year to 10,000 units per annum.
