Datto product announcements at DattoCon 2019

Datto, a provider of IT solutions delivered through managed service providers (MSPs), has made several announcements at DattoCon 2019.
DattoCon 2019Datto announced the availability of 20 products and enhancements at DattoCon19 on June 17-19 in San Diego, California. The largest open-ecosystem MSP-centric event in the world, in its seventh year, has attracted more than 2,900 attendees.

Research agency Gartner predicts that the overall external IT spend of small-to-medium business (SMB) will reach $1.1 trillion by 2020 and that SMBs invest a higher proportion of IT spend on external IT solutions and services than large enterprises.

Emily Glass, chief product officer of Datto, said: “These additions help MSPs address critical IT issues for clients while creating margin opportunities for partners to grow their managed services.”

Cloud Continuity for PCs

Cloud Continuity for PCs is an image-based, business continuity solution for PCs that utilizes Datto’s patent-pending technology. MSPs can now recover individual files or an entire PC image without the need for a local appliance, access backups of PC data, and virtualize backup images in the Datto Cloud.

SIRIS 4, a reliable BCDR solution, is optimized for MSP efficiency with improved backup resiliency and verification, enhanced virtualization performance, and increased device durability.

SIRIS 4 can virtualize 50 percent faster than previous devices and virtualize more agents per device.

Datto SaaS Protection for O365 with Vade Email Security

Datto has tied up with Vade Secure to enhance Datto SaaS Protection that comes with AI-based threat detection. This offering is available bundled with Datto SaaS Protection within Office 365.

Improved Partner Experience with Datto SaaS Protection

Datto also presented a new pricing model and MSP incentives for Datto SaaS Protection. A streamlined client onboarding process and a redesigned SaaS Protection Backup Status page with aggregate client metrics are the additional features.

Layer 3 Switches and Enhanced Cloud Management

The affordable E310 Series Switches come with partner-requested features including Layer 3 routing, 10Gb SFP+ with Direct Attach Cable (DAC) support, and enhanced security features, including support for 802.1x radius authentication.

Datto also announced several key leadership positions. Datto has appointed Sanjay Singh as chief sales officer; Mark Simon as managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Chris McCloskey as customer experience officer (CXO).

Datto has more than 1,600 employees; 22 offices in nine countries; and serves more than 500,000 SMBs across more than 130 countries through partnerships with more than 15,000 MSPs.
