D-Link introduces DAP-2660 wireless access point at $229.99

D-Link has announced the DAP-2660, a new high power 802.11ac wireless access point, designed specifically for schools, hospitals and commercial buildings at a price of $229.99

In a statement D-Link said that the DAP-2660 delivers enhanced wireless performance using the latest 802.11ac standard, with maximum wireless signal rates of up to 300 Mbps using the 2.4 GHz band, and 867 Mbps using the 5 GHz band.

The solution has internal antennas, which can be powered using the included AC to DC adapter or directly via the network cable using Power over Ethernet from any switch or midspan injector that supports IEEE 802.3af.

The solution provides strong security and authentication by maintaining a secure network with WPA/WPA2 Personal/Enterprise encryption, MAC address filtering, wireless LAN segmentation, SSID broadcast disable, rogue AP detection, wireless broadcast scheduling, and up to eight VLANs per band for implementing multiple SSIDs.

It also features Multiple Operation Modes that supports Access Point, Wireless Distribution System (WDS) with Access Point, WDS/Bridge, or Wireless Client operation modes. Besides, DAP-2660 also has multiple management options such as web, SSL, SSH and Telnet.

Administrators can use D-Link Central Wi-FiManager to configure and manage multiple access points remotely from different locations.
