CSC names Cognizant executive Ashish Mahadwar as EVP – Strategic Business

IT services vendor CSC has appointed Cognizant executive Ashish Mahadwar as executive vice president and general manager, Strategic Business.

At Cognizant, where he spent 11 years, Mahadwar served as senior vice president and global head of Strategic Partnerships.

Mahadwar will report to CSC President and CEO Mike Lawrie and will lead strategy and growth for CSC’s next-generation strategic business units: big data, cloud computing and cybersecurity.

Mahadwar was most recently responsible for establishing a group to manage Cognizant’s strategic partnerships and new ventures.

He joined Cognizant in 2003, and has also served as senior vice president and managing director for the company’s Enterprise Application Services practice, senior vice president for SAP & Mobile, and director and vice president for the Technology Vertical.

Earlier in his career Mahadwar co-founded Planetasia.com, and held management positions for Microland and for an HCL and HP joint venture.

He also served in analyst roles at A. F. Ferguson & Co. and CMC.
