Coughlan Companies replaces legacy IT systems with SimpliVity

The Coughlan Companies has deployed SimpliVity’s hyperconverged infrastructure to transform its remote office IT by replacing its legacy IT systems.

Through SimpliVity’s solution, the Coughlan has improved data protection processes, enabled backup and restore in seconds and achieved data capacity savings as high as 896:1 through inline deduplication, compression and optimization.

The company said it has also increased performance for mission-critical applications by 20 percent in pre-production and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) of the IT infrastructure.

Additionally, the Coughlan Companies has also executed an enterprise-wide Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP implementation on SimpliVity’s hyperconverged solution.

The company has replaced multiple servers and storage systems at each remote site with a single 2U SimpliVity system.

The core IT functions like compute, storage, network switching, replication and backup are consolidated onto industry standard x86 hardware.

This apart, the enterprise-wide implementation is managed by the central operations team in a uniform manner using VMware vCenter.

“Prior to standardizing on the SimpliVity solution, we were spending 80 percent of our time working on day-to-day IT administration and only 20 percent working on strategic architectural projects. Now it’s flipped,” said Brett Hoerner, manager of infrastructure and support services, Coughlan Companies.

Last month, SimpliVity announced that a new Australian customer deployed SimpliVity’s hyperconverged infrastructure solution in order to simplify its IT environment and increase performance in its primary data center.

In April, the Neenan Company leveraged SimpliVity OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure systems to simplify its IT infrastructure and improve disaster recovery capabilities.
