Coms dot com, a provider of Hosted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Telephony to UK businesses, has selected key components of Genband’s Smart Session portfolio to consolidate its network.
Genband will supply software-based QUANTiX Q20 Session Border Controller (SBC) and GENView Real-Time Session Manager (RSM) to deliver access network security and interconnect capabilities while offering real-time session visibility to monitor, analyze, report, and enforce network-wide quality of service and performance.
“As we looked to upgrade our existing SBC infrastructure and consolidate our network, Genband’s solution offered an unparalleled layer of intelligence and security in managing SIP and other IP-based voice and multimedia sessions,” Suzannah Doyle, head of Network Operations for Coms dot com.
Genband says the SIP Trunking capabilities enables Coms dot com to deliver IP-based connectivity to their enterprise customers that is secure, adaptive to multiple SIP and IP variants and interoperable with premises-based equipment.
Meanwhile, Genband announced the issuance of U.S. Patent number 8,600,006 for the one-step Unified Communications (UC) call transfer technology employed in Genband’s Call Grabber enterprise technology.
Genband says Call Grabber, deployed within the company’s Smart Office offerings, improves workforce mobility by enabling active call transfer between phones, smartphones, tablets and mobile devices in a one-step process that is undetectable to other parties on the call.
